Radiologically Contaminated Floor Tiles

Category: Deactivation & Decommissioning > Decontamination
Published: 2/26/2010 Last Updated: 3/24/2010

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory would like to obtain several ideas to remove potentially radiologically contaminated asbestos floor tiles. They are considering “Outside the Box” techniques for removing contaminated asbestos tile. Once suggestion is to pour liquid nitrogen on the floor to crack the tile and hopefully get each piece to curl up. Is there anyone who can provide more information about this technique?
