The Technology Innovation Hub: Applied Robotics and Artificial Intelligence for Nuclear Decommissioning Workshop aims to serve as a collaborative platform where industry leaders, academic heads, faculty, and students can engage in insightful discussions to better understand the Robotics/AI landscape.

FIU Robotic Technologies: mini rover, wall crawler and pipe crawler

The 2024 Robotics/AI Workshop will kick off with breakfast and a networking session at FIU's Modesto Madique Campus (MMC), followed by opening remarks from FIU Leadership, Department of Energy (DOE) officials, and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). The two and a half days’ workshop will count with panels and presentations from experts representing DOE national labs, DOE contractors, international agencies and academia. There will also be a facility tour and technology demonstrations at FIU's Applied Research Center (FIU-ARC) located at FIU's Engineering Campus (EC).

Parking & Registration Instructions:

  • If arriving via Uber, please request to be dropped off near the GC Ballroom metered parking area (next to FIU’s Graham Center).
  • If driving a vehicle, please park head-in only in the metered parking lot area next to the Graham Center and take a photo of your license plate to present at the Welcome and Registration table so that FIU can register your vehicle for parking for this workshop at GC 243, compliments of FIU ARC.
  • If parking at any garage or other lots, please park head-in only, you may park in a Faculty/Staff Blue Spot (except for handicapped) or any White spot (without any markings) and take a photo of your license plate to present at the Welcome and Registration table so that FIU can register your vehicle for parking for this workshop at GC 243, compliments of FIU ARC.
Please approach the Welcome and Registration desk outside of GC 243 (Days 1 and 2) and GC 140 (Day 3) so we can confirm your attendance and also register your vehicle for all days of your attendance by presenting your license plate photo. Parking at the Engineering Campus will require an additional registration. Our Welcome and Registration staff will assist with dual registrations for parking at both campuses to avoid any ticket citations on your vehicle.
