Demonstration Name:Remotly Remove Graphite via the Predador arm | Demonstrated on: 6/1/1997
Demonstration Site: Chicago Pile-5 Reactor

Demo Objective

Removed portions of the reactor structure and graphite shielding blocks from the west thermal column of the reactor and moved approximately 500 pounds of graphite blocks without exposing personnel to radioactivity.

Demo Results

Rosie effectively removed graphite via the Predator arm, moved radioactive materials from the reactor assembly to a staging area using specially designed steel transfer can, and position video cameras in strategic stated above were monitored and evaluated to gauge the relative success of the demonstration
