CybAero’s APID 60 is an autonomous, unmanned helicopter (VTOL UAV). The APID 60 system comprises of three main components:
Helicopter platform, including avionics and data links.
Payload, usually in the form of one or more sensors, from partners.
Ground station with control unit, including video monitors and data links.

The APID 60 control system flies the helicopter without assistance from the operator, keeps the helicopter stable in the air and manages launches and landings automatically. This makes the helicopter easy to maneuver and only brief pilot training is required. This patented technology, which is known as MALLS (Mobile Automatic Launch and Landing Station), allows the helicopter to take off and land on moving surfaces, e.g. the deck of a ship.
